Finally was able to build my #
SailfishOS
image without errors. Unfortunatly, my Kindle doesn't seem to like it. It goes directly to Fastboot.
I do see that I build the wrong kernel arch. Instead of armv7l, I did armv7hl. Will try again after work.

How is it going? Is it hard to install SailfishOS on an Android device?

Working on recompiling right now.
As far as Sailfish porting goes, you just need working Cyanogenmod source for your device. And the ability to follow the adaptation kit directions, subbing some info for stuff that applies to your device. No coding is involved.

Ran into the same issue. The Kindle boots, and the goes directly to the Fastboot screen.
I made a post in the XDA Kindle dev forum. Hopefully somebody smarter than myself will have a suggestion :)
