I really dislike how modern automobiles have abandoned removable, user upgradable entertainment centers for a non-removable, non-upgradable "infotainment" center.
Things like this story are bound to happen more.
In Seattle, some Mazda owners who listened to NPR had their radios crash due to a missing "extension" in the HD Radio transmission. Now, they are stuck listening to NPR. The fix is to replace a module. However, the module is currently backordered and may be over $1000.
