Back in March, I had picked up a 1lb bag of Papua New Guinea Bauka Blue to try something new.
Finished roasting the last bit of it Sunday. For the low price I had paid, this batch was pretty impressive IMO.
One of the notable strong points being that the aroma is quite strong. I do enjoy smelling my coffee in the morning as well as drinking it.
I am in no way a
coffee expert, but the description supplied by
Sweet Maria's was fairly accurate. Cocoa? Yes. Brown and date sugars? Sure. Peet? It's there.
Most of my tests were done at Full City+. Lighter roasts were okay, but didn't have the same aroma, nor sweetness.
I will have to try some more in the future. For now, it appears that the remaining New Guinea beans have been sold.
