Hi. I want to use the webpages option in hubzilla. Is there any manual for non techy people that you know?

Depends on the definition of "non techy". It's not as easy as creating pages with Wordpress (I have done both). Did you see the official instructions?

I am a "tech person" but only scratched my head about this "documentation".

Yes, we need a dedicated howto. It's on my todo list, but not before I have "finished" my own first page. :)

wrote an article that you may find interesting.
It’s like totally time to build your web site on Hubzilla
I used the article as a basis to create some static webpages for a private channel.

There were some changes made to Hubzilla that broke my demo site, but the instructions should be good. It's on my list of things to do, to update that document.

Wow, reading that again after so long I agree; it's pretty bad. I remember writing the "Webpage element import tool" section after making that tool, but I may have ignored the rest because I thought an example was worth more than a bunch of abstract documentation of the block and template system. Obviously stating that and including such an example would have been preferable! Here's the example for the Hubzilla project webpage:

Once you are dug in and "get it" it seems pretty intuitive. Getting to that point is another story.

The point is that I am lacking the time to "dig in". But what I saw so far is everything, but deinitely not "intuitive". I can see that coders will describe it that way, but if Hubzilla wants to be attractive for the less tech-savvy this needs to be addressed.
Users that come from one of the many drag&drop-solutions will have one look at it and go somewhere else.
Please note that I definitely respect the effort that already went into this platform and I'm completely clear about the fact that developing and expanding it takes time.

I'd say that drag and drop solutions have not been the general inspiration. We need to distinguish two very different tasks:
create a website template and basic structure
just apply a theme and start writing
As of now no one has created one or more basic themes that you could apply and start writing your content. This is a known issue and needs to be tackled, and I believe that there are good chances this will happen sometime soon. But we will need to create the proper documentation first. It's a hen and egg problem, but we are at it.

The first aim will be creating a default theme that will be part of the default installation. That will already make many things much easier for many. I am learning myself right now and will create something once I have dived in.

Yes, I already tried to find documentation about themeing and again found nothing conclusive or somewhat easy to follow. I even wanted to write a tutorial about it, but there is nothing to build upon.
So I took an already existing theme and changed that to my taste. But this also was a daunting task as I literally had to guess which template file I had to change, as again there is no documentation.
